Here is an overview of what to expect on this safari.

Arusha: Your safari adventure begins in Arusha, a vibrant city that serves as the gateway to many of Tanzania’s top safari destinations. While in Arusha, you can explore the city’s markets, shops and museums. You may also opt to embark on a day trip to nearby attractions such as the Arusha National Park, which is home to Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak.

Tarangire National Park: Your next stop is Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge herds of elephants, baobab trees and stunning landscapes. You will spend a few days exploring the park, going on game drives and spotting wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras and wildebeests.

Lake Manyara National Park: After Tarangire, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park, which is famous for its flamingoes, tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. You can also take a guided walk along the shores of the lake and learn about the local culture and traditions of the Maasai people.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Next up is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera in the world. You will spend days exploring the crater, which is home to over 25,000 large animals including elephants, lions, hyenas and rhinos.

Serengeti National Park: Your safari adventure culminates in the Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife reserves. Here, you will spend several days exploring the vast savannah plains, going on game drives and witnessing the annual wildebeest migration (depending on the time of year). You may also opt to take a hot air balloon ride over the park for a unique perspective of the wildlife below.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can spend the rest of the day at leisure or go on a city tour (optional).

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You will depart your hotel in Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, which is about a 2-hour drive away. On the way, you will pass through Maasai villages and see the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Once you arrive at the park, you will go on a game drive to explore the park's diverse habitats and wildlife. In the afternoon, you will check into your safari lodge or camp and have some time to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park Full Day

On this day you will have a full day to explore Tarangire National Park. You will go on morning and afternoon game drives to search for the park's famous elephant herds, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes and many other species. You will also have the opportunity to spot over 550 species of birds that call Tarangire home. In between game drives, you will return to your lodge or camp for meals and relaxation.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will depart your safari lodge or camp in Tarangire National Park and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which is about a 2-hour drive away. Once you arrive at the park, you will go on a game drive to explore the park's diverse habitats and wildlife, including its famous tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon, you will check into your safari lodge or camp and have some time to relax before dinner.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will depart your safari lodge or camp in Lake Manyara National Park and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is about a 2-hour drive away. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and the surrounding landscape. Once you arrive at the conservation area, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, where you will have the chance to see an abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino). In the late afternoon, you will check into your safari lodge or camp and have some time to relax before dinner.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area Full Day

On this day you will spend a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will start with an early morning game drive on the crater floor, followed by a visit to a Maasai village to learn about their culture and way of life. After lunch, you will go on a nature walk to the Empakaai Crater, a beautiful caldera with a lake at the bottom. You will also have the opportunity to spot flamingos and other water birds. In the late afternoon, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will depart your safari lodge or camp in Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drive to Serengeti National Park, which is about a 3-hour drive away. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to spot wildlife and enjoy the changing scenery. Once you arrive at the park, you will go on a game drive en route to your safari lodge or camp. You will have lunch at the lodge or camp and then spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the surrounding area.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park Full Day

You will spend two full days exploring the Serengeti National Park. Each day will start with an early morning game drive to see the park's wildlife at their most active. You will then return to your lodge or camp for breakfast and some downtime. In the late morning, you will have the option to go on a guided nature walk, visit a local Maasai village or enjoy other activities as offered by your safari provider. After lunch, you will head back out for an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner and relaxation at your lodge or camp.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park Full Day

Day 10: Serengeti National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, you will have one last game drive in the Serengeti before departing for Arusha. You will stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way, arriving back in Arusha in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
