Overview
This 4-day flying safari takes you into the heart of Kenya’s world-famous Masai Mara, known for its abundant wildlife and the Great Migration. Staying at Ashnil Mara Camp, located in a prime location along the Mara River, you’ll experience breathtaking game drives, luxury tented accommodation, and the opportunity to witness some of Africa’s most iconic animals in their natural habitat.
Day 01 :
Nairobi – Masai Mara
- Morning:
- Transfer from your Nairobi hotel to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara.
- Depart Nairobi on a morning flight (approx. 45 minutes).
- Arrive at the Masai Mara airstrip, where you’ll be met by an Ashnil Mara Camp representative.
- Enjoy a game drive en route to Ashnil Mara Camp, where you'll check in and settle into your luxury tent.
- Lunch:
- Enjoy a delicious lunch at the camp's restaurant while soaking in views of the Mara River.
- Afternoon:
- After a brief rest, head out for your first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara.
- Explore the vast savannah, searching for the Big Five and other wildlife.
- Evening:
- Return to the camp for a relaxing evening.
- Dinner at the camp followed by stargazing or relaxing by the campfire.
Day 02 :
Full Day in Masai Mara
- Morning:
- Start your day with an early morning game drive, the best time to see predators on the hunt.
- You may witness lions, cheetahs, and the majestic elephants grazing.
- Breakfast:
- Return to camp for a hearty breakfast.
- Mid-Morning:
- Optional visit to a nearby Maasai village (extra cost) to learn about Maasai culture and traditions.
- Lunch:
- Enjoy lunch back at the camp.
- Afternoon:
- Embark on an afternoon game drive or relax at the camp, taking in the sights and sounds of the Mara.
- You may opt for a sundowner experience, watching the sunset over the Mara plains.
- Evening:
- Return to the camp for dinner, followed by an evening around the campfire.
Day 03 :
Full Day in Masai Mara
- Optional Balloon Safari:
- For an unforgettable experience, you can opt for an early morning hot air balloon safari (additional cost). Soar over the Mara as the sun rises and enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush.
- Morning & Afternoon:
- Another day of morning and afternoon game drives, giving you ample time to explore different parts of the Masai Mara Reserve.
- This is a great opportunity to witness the wildlife in their natural environment, including large herds of wildebeest and zebra if visiting during the Great Migration season.
- Lunch and Dinner:
- Meals at the camp, with free time to relax in between game drives.
Day 04 :
Masai Mara – Nairobi
- Morning:
- After breakfast,
- Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi.
- Late Morning:
- Arrive at Wilson Airport, Nairobi, where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel or the international airport for your onward journey.
